Google Ads suspended your account.
Here is what a real reinstatement needs.

Google Ads suspensions arrive with a policy code and not much else. The campaigns that were bringing in sales yesterday are frozen today, and a weak appeal just gets the same answer twice.

ServicesAd accounts and business platforms
This is you ifThe Google Ads dashboard shows "Account suspended" with a policy name you have to look up.Billing still shows a valid card, so the suspension clearly is not about payment.A landing page, a certification requirement, or a business verification step is named in the notice. This is not the first suspension, and a previous appeal already failed.

Reading the suspension notice correctly

Google Ads suspensions sit under a small number of broad categories. Circumventing systems, misrepresentation, unacceptable business practices, and a handful of certification requirements for regulated categories like financial services or pharmacies. The category named in the notice is a starting point, not the full explanation. “Circumventing systems” covers many technical issues, from cloaked landing pages to tracking scripts that behave differently for reviewers than for real visitors. It does not always mean anyone acted in bad faith.

Before writing anything, the landing pages behind the suspended campaigns need a plain check. Does the page match what the ad promises? Does it load the same way for everyone? Is there anything that could read as misleading, even unintentionally?

What a reinstatement request needs to say

Google’s reinstatement form asks what changed since the suspension. A vague answer gets a vague result. The strongest requests name the specific issue and show what was fixed, with evidence: a corrected landing page, a completed certification, updated business information. They do not try to argue the original suspension was unfair. Google is deciding whether the account is safe to run ads again, not revisiting the original call.

Certification requirements are their own category

Some suspensions have nothing to do with a mistake. They mean a requirement was never completed. Financial products, healthcare, legal gambling and a few other categories require Google certification before ads can run at all. If this is the real issue, the fix is completing that certification correctly, not writing a better appeal letter. We tell clients plainly when this is the case, since no amount of appeal writing speeds up a certification process with its own timeline.

Why a second account almost never works

Google ties suspensions to the business behind the account, using signals like billing details, website domain and phone numbers, not just the account ID. A second account on the same business tends to surface the same signals, and the same suspension, sometimes faster. It also removes any chance of getting the original account’s history and performance data back. A proper reinstatement, through Google’s own process, is almost always the better route, even when it takes longer than a new signup would.

What to do in the next hour

  1. 01

Read the exact policy named in the suspension notice inside Google Ads, not just the email summary.

  2. 02

Open the landing pages used by the suspended campaigns and check they match what the ads actually promise.

  3. 03

Check whether the account needed a certification (financial services, pharma, gambling and others) and whether it was ever completed.

  4. 04

Do not open a second account on the same business. Google links suspended accounts, and the new one usually gets suspended too.

FAQ

Can you guarantee Google will reinstate the account?

No. Google decides what happens to its own accounts. What we commit to is finding the actual policy issue, fixing it where it is real, and filing a reinstatement request that addresses it directly.

What does "circumventing systems" mean, and did we really do that?

It is one of Google's broadest categories. It can be triggered by things nobody intended as misleading, like a landing page that loads differently for different visitors. We read the exact wording Google used before assuming anything.

Should we open a new account instead of appealing?

Usually no. Google connects accounts by business details, billing and website, so a new account tied to the same business often inherits the same suspension. A reinstatement keeps your history and quality scores intact.

How long does a reinstatement usually take?

It varies by policy area, often one to three weeks once a complete appeal is filed. Certification-related suspensions can take longer, since the certification itself runs on Google's own timeline.
