Inbound calls on autopilot:
answer, qualify, transfer, log
A ringing line that nobody picks up in the first few rings is a lost customer more often than teams expect. We build a voice agent that answers every inbound call, handles the routine ones end to end, and transfers the rest to the right person with full context already logged.
The process today
A business line rings, and whoever is closest picks it up if they are free, puts it on hold if they are not, or lets it go to voicemail if nobody is near a phone. Callers asking the same handful of questions, hours, pricing, availability, order status, end up waiting for a person to repeat an answer that has been given a thousand times before, and every call that goes to voicemail is a caller who may just call a competitor instead.
The deeper cost is coverage. A small team cannot staff a phone line evenly across the day, so the first call after lunch or the last call before close gets a worse experience than the one at 10am, and any call outside business hours is simply missed until the next morning, by which point an urgent request has gone cold.
There is also a cost that never shows up in any call log: the calls that go to a competitor instead, because a caller who gets no answer rarely leaves a voicemail and almost never calls back a second time to say they tried. A team only ever sees the calls it answered, never the ones it lost to silence.
What the agent does
The agent answers every inbound call within one or two rings, in a voice tuned to your brand, and works through a script written with your team: who you are, what you offer, and the specific questions your callers actually ask. For routine requests - hours, pricing, availability, order status, booking a slot - it resolves the call completely and logs the outcome.
Anything outside the script, a complaint, a negotiation, a request the agent is not confident about, gets transferred live to a person, with a short spoken handoff and a written summary already sitting in your CRM. The agent never guesses at something it was not given an answer for; it says so and transfers instead.
The same agent also covers the middle ground between a quick answer and a full transfer: taking a structured message instead of a vague voicemail, checking order or booking status against your system on the spot, and offering to follow up by text instead of holding a caller on the line for something that does not need a live back and forth.
What stays with humans
Any call that involves a complaint, a price negotiation, or a decision your team has not given the agent rules for goes to a person. The agent’s script and its transfer rules are written and approved by your team, not guessed, and every transfer carries the context forward instead of making a caller start over. Pricing exceptions and anything that commits the business to a non-standard term also stay with a person, even when the agent could technically produce an answer.
Guards
Every call is recorded and transcribed, so a manager can review any conversation after the fact. The agent runs in a shadow mode, listening and logging without answering, for a few days before it is allowed to pick up live calls, and a kill switch routes every call straight to a human in one message if something looks wrong. Logs are kept for a retention period your team sets, long enough for dispute resolution and coaching review, and access to recordings follows the same permission rules as the rest of your call system.

FAQ
How much does an AI call answering agent cost?
From $800 for one phone line with a script covering your main call reasons, live in 5 to 12 days. A department package covering answering, transfers and after-hours triage together starts at $2,500.
Does it sound like a real person?
It uses a natural voice model and your own wording for greetings and common answers, but we do not try to hide that it is an agent if a caller asks. Honesty with callers matters more to us than a convincing impression.
What happens with a call the script cannot handle?
It is transferred live to a person on your team, with a short spoken summary of the call so far and a written note in your CRM, so nobody has to ask the caller to repeat themselves.
Which phone systems does it work with?
Twilio, Vonage and most SIP trunks on the telephony side, and your CRM or helpdesk - amoCRM, HubSpot, Zendesk or a Google Sheet - on the logging side.
Can it handle more than one language?
Yes, if your callers mix languages we set the agent up for the two or three that matter most; see also our multilingual phone support automation for a dedicated setup across many languages.
