A dozen ad variants before lunch:
same brief, different hooks

Testing five creative angles usually means writing five briefs, waiting on five drafts and hoping they are different enough from each other to actually learn something. An agent takes one brief and produces a set of variants built to differ on the one thing you want to test, in the formats your media buyer needs, ready for a human to pick and polish.

The process today

Creative testing works when the variants actually differ on the thing you are trying to learn, and that is the part that breaks down when humans write five versions by hand under deadline. Teams usually find the “different” hooks converge on the same three ideas, the angle changes but the structure does not, or a format test quietly becomes a copy test because nobody had time to build a proper square and vertical version of the same concept. The brief was clear; the execution drifted.

The second cost is turnaround. A batch of real variants, tested on a real audience, needs to exist before a media buyer can learn anything, and writing and designing five to ten of them by hand against a deadline is where testing slows to a crawl. A campaign that should be iterating weekly ends up iterating every two or three weeks because the creative pipeline cannot keep up with the ad account’s appetite.

The third cost is compliance risk hiding in volume. The more variants a team produces under time pressure, the more likely one slips through with a claim it should not make, especially in regulated categories like supplements, finance or health, where a single bad line in one variant out of ten can get an entire ad account flagged.

What the agent does

The agent takes one brief, one product or service, and the dimension you want to test, whether that is the hook in the first line, the emotional angle, the format (square, vertical, carousel) or the audience framing, and produces a batch of variants that actually differ on that dimension rather than drifting into near-duplicates. Copy, scripts and landing-page lines come out in your brand’s voice, learned from approved examples rather than a generic template.

Where the test needs visuals, the same pipeline generates product scenes and image variants with engine switching between image models depending on the shot, following the same calibration discipline we built for our own product card designer bot, which cut cost per generated scene from $0.40 to $0.04 while holding product size deviation under 2 percent.

Every variant runs through a compliance gate before a human ever sees it: a deterministic check that rejects a forbidden claim by default, fixes once, regenerates once, and only then surfaces the variant for review. This is the same gate built into our content agent handling 11 content types across two brands and four funnel stages, described in the content agent case study, where an adversarial review round closed every gap the gate had missed on the first build.

Approved and rejected variants both feed back into the system as few-shot examples, so the next batch starts closer to what your team actually keeps, and exports land tagged and named to match your ad platform’s own convention, ready for a media buyer to load straight into an ad set.

What stays with humans

Picking which variant to launch, how much budget to put behind a test, and any judgment call about tone, taste or a borderline claim stays with your team. The agent produces options built to differ on the dimension you chose; it does not decide which option is right for your audience, and nothing launches into a live ad account without a person approving it first.

Guards

A deterministic compliance check runs before any variant reaches a reviewer, rejecting forbidden claims by default rather than hoping a human catches them in a busy review queue. Generation limits per batch and per day keep cost predictable, every variant is logged with the brief and settings that produced it so a result can be traced back, and a kill switch stops generation instantly if a batch starts producing anything off-brand or non-compliant.

Price and timeline

Option Price What it covers Timeline
Single automation from $600 Copy and script variants for one brand, one funnel stage, with a compliance gate 4 to 8 days
Department package from $2,500 Variant generation plus product descriptions and social scheduling across your catalogue 2 to 4 weeks

Running cost is usually $30 to $120 a month in model usage depending on batch volume and whether image generation is included, with a budget cap set before launch.

Works well alongside product descriptions at scale when the same catalogue needs both ad copy and listing copy, and with landing page copy variants so the ad and the page it sends traffic to are tested together rather than separately. For video-first testing, video script drafting runs the same brief-to-variant logic. Part of automation of everything digital and built the way we build AI agents, including the 11-type content agent and the product card designer bot.

FAQ

How much does creative variant generation cost?

From $600 for a copy and script variant pipeline tuned to one brand and funnel stage, live in 4 to 8 days. Adding image or product-scene generation, or a second brand, usually lands in the $1,500 to $3,000 range.

How long before it is live?

4 to 8 days, most of it spent tuning the brand voice and the compliance rules against real approved and rejected examples from your team, so the first live batch is not a guess.

Which tools does it connect to?

Your brief or product sheet as input, Claude and image models (Sora, GPT image, Gemini) for generation, and export to your ad platform's naming convention or a shared drive for your media buyer to pull from.

What happens if a variant makes a claim it should not?

A deterministic compliance check runs before any variant reaches a human, rejecting anything with a forbidden claim by default rather than flagging it as a maybe. Borderline cases are fixed once and regenerated once before they ever reach a reviewer.

Is our creative and brand material safe?

Your brand assets and product data stay in your own accounts and drives, generation runs on your own keys where applicable, and we log every variant produced so you can trace any output back to the brief that created it.
